Office issues licenses to investors with over 239mln birr capital

Mekele, November 11,2005 [WIC]- The Tigray State Investment Office announced that it has issued licenses to 49 entrepreneurs with over 239 million birr registered capital to engage in Mekele town during the first quarter of the fiscal year. 

Projects Evaluation, Registration, Implementation and Supervision Department Head with the Office, Teklemariam Abay told WIC today that the investors will engage in agriculture, industry, livestock breeding, dairy production, hotel and social services sectors. 

Upon completion, the projects would create 1,400 jobs, he said. 

Meanwhile, Teklemariam stated that 99 percent of the 202 projects with over 3.1 billion birr capital in the town have gone operational.  (END)
