Officials urge residents to strive for implementation of development, good governance programs

Senior officials of Tigray Region called on residents of Mekele to exert effort towards the implementation of development and good governance programs.

TPLF Political Affairs Head, Tewodros Hagos, and Tigray Region Trade, Industry and Transportation Bureau Head, Ambassador Adissalem Balema, conferred with the representatives of the city on July 28.

The discussion mainly focused on evaluating the implementation of the development and good governance programs and the corrective measures that should be taken to solve problems encountered during their execution.

Representatives of the city raised questions related to allocation of budget, infrastructure, investment, taxation and security, among others.

Responding to questions and opinions raised by city representatives, Bureau Head Ambassador Adissalem Balema noted the need for coordinating  efforts of the government, the public and the businesspersons to realize development and good governance. He stressed that the problem of good governance could be addressed by implementing clear directives that are currently under preparation.

Political Affairs Head Tewodros Hagos on his part underscored the importance of such kinds of forums for implementing the development and good governance plans. (END)
