The 7th Organizational Congress of the Ethiopian Peoples’
Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) during its first-day
session Monday appraised political and organizational
performances implemented during the past two years, said the
front’s secretariat office.
Office head Bereket Semeon told
journalists that achievements were significant in the works
carried out to make rural populations beneficiaries.
He said able leadership was provided
towards success of multi-sectored efforts on the path of
revolutionary democracy.
In cities and urban centers, Bereket
said, encouraging activities were carried out particularly in
the micro- and small-scale business development sector, though
implementation of activities related to helping mitigate the
problems faced by low-income citizens were yet to bring about
desired results.
He said the report presented to the
assembly by EPRDF chairman showed satisfactory results in the
implementation of political and organizational tasks.
He said the messages of partner
organizations read out to participants during the opening
showed that the support provided by EPRDF helped regional
states achieve considerable changes in development, good
governance and democratization.
Political parties of a number of countries also communicated
through their delegates to the conference messages of
felicitation and support, Bereket said. (END) |
