Addis Ababa, March 17, 2008 (WIC) - The 18th founding
anniversary of the Oromo People's Democratic Organization (OPDO)
would be celebrated colorfully from March 23 to April 8 in
three towns, the organization disclosed.
OPDO
Organizational Affairs Bureau Head Zelalem Jemaneh told WIC
that the anniversary would be observed in Dera, Adama and
Nekempte towns.
The
day would in particular be colorfully celebrated on March 23
in Dera town where OPDO was first formed in the presence of
federal and state officials, he said.
Later
will be inaugurated Oromo martyrs monument and a state radio
station in Adam town, the head said, adding that the day would
also be colorfully celebrated in Nekempte town on March 30.
OPDO
leaders are also making preparations to celebrate the founding
anniversary at zone, woreda and kebele levels, he stated.
Members and supporters of OPDO and
the public have been making preparations to successfully
celebrate the day, according to the head. (END) |
