Oromia State Chief Administrator called on women to further enhance their on going efforts for ensuring good governance

The Oromo People's Democratic Organization (OPDO), June 16/2008 - Democratic Organization (OPDO) Womens League formation conference in Adama town, the chief administrator Aba Dual Gemeda said that women of the state should further enhance their struggle for alleviating poverty.

Foundation of the OPDO womens league would create opportunities for women to make appropriate activities in each sector. Abadula said hundreds of thousands of women are now members of OPDO.

The support of the women league is vital for the efforts of the women to ensure the respect of their benefits.

During the two days founding conference, the Oromo People Democratic Organization (OPDO) Youth League has deliberated and ratified the Draft Program of the league, statute and two years action plan.

The conference has wound up by electing 41 central committee members, Audit and supervision committee members while electing Demitu Hambisa as Head of the league. (END)
