(WIC) - The South Ethiopian People Democratic Movement (SEPDM)
urged natives of the state to actively participate in the
efforts underway to realize development and good governance
endeavors as well as further enrich the culture and language
of the state.
Speaking at the 15th founding anniversary of the Movement here
, SEPDM Central Committee Member, Wondimu Gezahegn, said that
members in leadership positions should work diligently to
consolidate development and good governance works.
The movement has contributed its share in the efforts made to
curb the socio-economic and political problems of the state
after the downfall of the Derge regime, Wondimu said.
SEPDM marks the day by pledging for better achievements in the
years ahead as it is of the conviction that the peace,
development and good governance outcomes registered so far are
not suffice, he elaborated.
The government has reportedly been making extensive efforts to
further deepen development and democratization activities, he
indicated further urging nations and nationalities of the
state to back up the efforts.
Nationals of the state who are members both the House of
Peoples Representatives (HPR) and House of Federation present
at the event marked in the hall of HPR, it was learnt. (END) |
