Bahirdar, September 9 (WIC) – The Amhara
National Democratic Movement (ANDM) 8th organizational
congress, held in Bahirdar town for the last five days,
concluded today electing 65 central committee members who will
lead the Movement over the coming two years.
The congress expressed its trust in the newly elected members
of the central committee to take the entire development, good
governance and democratization endeavors to a higher level.
Among the 65 members of the central committee, 18 are new and
9 are women.
Meanwhile, the congress has elected Addisu Legese and Demeke
Mekonen chairman and vice chairman of the movement for the
coming two years. It has also elected audit committees of five
and two for ANDM and EPRDF, respectively.
The participants have finally adopted a 10 points resolution
where they stressed the need for capacity building with a view
to facilitate implementation of timely and quality
performances in all aspects.
They have reaffirmed their readiness to do their levels best
in all aspects in accomplishing targets to improve the
society’s income.
The congress has also reached consensus to correct shortfalls
in land management and administration, enhancing job creation,
investment, infrastructure, technology transfer and building
capacity in income generation.
ANDM will work with particular attention to accomplish the
objectives of revolutionary democratic thinking, it was
learnt.
