ANDM prioritizes capacity building, rural development schemes

Bahir Dar, September 7, 2008 (ENA) - The 8th organizational conference of the Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM) announced that the party attaches due attention to speeding up rural development and provision of capacity building activities in the coming two years.

The conference indicated that ANDM will be striving to enable the society benefit best from overall development of the region during the coming two years.

Participants of the conference unanimously endorsed the performance report of the party on Sunday after holding thorough deliberations on achievements of the party in the political, development, and good-governance sectors during the last two years.

The conference learnt that the regional government has registered remarkable achievements in the agriculture development sector and quite encouraging results in the development of micro and small-scale business enterprises and in curbing housing problems during the reported period.

Participants of the conference also decided that ANDM shall attach due attention to provision capacity building training to executive bodies at various levels and boosting rural development schemes in the region in the years ahead.

Moreover, the participants underscored that the party shall strengthen on-going efforts in creating job opportunities in urban areas and facilitating conditions to create marketing network among the urban and rural localities of the state. (END)
